The Bell Tower
The bell tower remains the only trace proving the existence of Saint-Pierre church. One of the two bells dates from 1489 and it is one the most ancient in our departement.
The building of Saint-Pierre church was held before 1370. At the end of the Middle Ages it was used as the parochial church. In 1607 this building became the Pénitents Blancs' Chapel further to their settlement .
The clock was set in 1648 and has belonged to the town ever since 1793.
In the Middle Ages, the bell tower played a very important part for the robionnais because it announced every event in the village. A person called «clocheron» was assigned to announce the various events of the town ; religious and civilian ringings could be heard accordingly
